Explore Vegan Wine and Cheese at The Vegan Harvest

Who doesn’t love wine and cheese, right? Okay vegans, you don’t need to frown anymore. For those curious about all sorts of food and beverages, here’s some good news. In Olive Bar and Kitchen’s monthly property The Vegan Harvest, you can learn about unusual wines and cheeses. Staying in line with the brand’s philosophy of bringing locally-sourced and organic produce to the forefront, Olive has tied up with Wine Park, importer and distributor of boutique imported wines in India, to talk about organic and vegan wine.

At The Vegan Harvest, Vishal Kadakia, proprietor of Wine Park will talk about The Daily Dose Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, the brand’s first Indian red wine, introduced in April 2016. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon using grapes sourced from an organic vineyard in the Solapur district of Maharashtra, this wine has been made with a minimum of oak in a vibrant and fruit-forward style that pairs well with all sorts of cuisines.

In addition to this, Vishal will also talk about vegan wine, a relatively new concept in India. Offered by Wine Park, Querciabella is an imported brand of vegan wines, founded in 1974.

Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni, owner and chairman of Querciabella, has developed his winery to become not only organic and biodynamic but also 100% vegan from the soil to the glass. In its uncompromising pursuit of quality, sustainability and authenticity, Querciabella has continually honed its approach to biodynamic viticulture for over a decade. With vineyards located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Maremma areas, Querciabella exemplifies the preservation of tradition through forward-thinking and completely natural winemaking.

To pair with these fine wines, Paridita Mascarenhas of Break Of Dawn, will speak about her brand’s vegan parmesan cheese. The brand launched with vegan almond milk in June 2017, and is now slowly increasing their portfolio of vegan products, which now includes their newly- introduced vegan cheese.

During the session, guests will be treated to tasting portions of the wines and cheese, while they learn more about the benefits of veganism, and how this phenomenon can be applied to items as diverse as wine and cheese.

Guests who wish to attend can call the venue to reserve a spot. Entry is completely free.
